This video lifted up my spirit.

Raining, cold wind, and cold temperature... My body and spirit have been sinking down recently.
I accidentally found this video, that was lucky for us!  We were so awed those cycling people in Netherlands.

They are amazing!

Hope our town will become better soon.

Health on two wheels
This author told what I felt exactly.  Nice to know that I was not an extremely timid person who doesn't like to share the road with dangerous car drivers.

Physically separate bike lanes
 It really make sense.

And bicyclists need to know how to ride properly.
Yes, I will continue practicing day by day.  Especially be patient for pedestrians and be flexible towards cars.

Today we just rode short.  When we got back home, it was raining for a while.  But it stopped soon.
Now we had quite a rain tonight.  Hope it will rain more during the night.

An Interesting video

Had a short ride in the morning. Felt like we are getting weaker and weaker recently for some reason, but we don't give up.

Found another interesting video.  Ride of my life

After the hot lazy resting day yesterday.

I was supposed to do some muscle exercise yesterday so I did just one recorded "Classical Stretch" 30 min. program and "Sit and be Fit" 30 min.  And was totally exhausted by the hot weather.

Today I was going to have a rest according to the schedule, but I was worried that I might be losing my sense of biking, so we did 10 mile ride today just after temperature dropped a tiny bit.

I've been struggling to get my start and stop right for a long time.  I understood in my brain, but my body coordination never came right.  I thought there must be some secrets or hint.
I found this excellent site and watched the video over and over.

On today's ride I practiced like this at beginning over and over.
For start:  I won't sit at beginning to make sure, as soon as the right pedal goes down sit and put left foot on to pedal.  With right hand gear 3.  My left hand gear is 2, and I decided to never change.

For stop:  Before the stop sign, I will change right hand gear to 3, left foot pedal up and right foot pedal down, and roll.  When brake stops the bike, tilt bike to left a little bit and only left foot off to the ground, right foot stays on the lower pedal.

Because I have a bad balance sense, right hand gear 4,  in stead of 3, was better to start smoothly.

It took many practices to get the stop right.  Somehow I had a habit to put both my feet on the ground. And I tilted the bike to the right instead of left.  Finally I got it.  I still need practice to do it more naturally.

At my old age, skipping biking completely to rest for a whole day seemed not a good idea, because especially I need some tedious practice.  And also old aged body never can refresh like a younger one, our body is always tired whether doing something or not doing anything.  That was a surprise.

Distance, Max speed, and time

I must have tensed unnecessarily so that I got left arm pain, and butt pain again.  And I got tired deeply.  Good thing is that I will be able to get to sleep immediately when I go to bed.  That's great nowadays.

p.s. The site I put today has another video at the end for cyclocross, and I enjoyed watching a lot.

The hurdle of 15 mile is hard to jump over.

Maybe because of this hot weather, it's very hard to renew the riding record over15 miles recently.  Even 10 miles riding made us tired, not just after finishing, a couple of hours later the fatigue really gets us.

So I promise to myself if I ride, I will ride at least 10 miles every time.  Or I won't ride, just rest completely.

Yesterday we had a nice rest.  Watched movie, watched exciting mountain bike movie on You tube.  And thinking about all kinds of possible place to go biking, trying to make plans... etc.

Today we rode in our neighborhood long.  We came back for restroom and water, and went back on the road.  Tried to pedal the same cadence, tried to start and stop the right way as much as possible.  Tried to watch for cars that might pass me.

Start and Stop is very important, but I still couldn't get the smart looking way.  I will work for it.

Today's records:  Distance, Time, Average Speed, and Max Speed.

I was going to go out again, but Mr. WhP said "no".  ??  Maybe next time.

Meanwhile, I made a tomorrow's plan.

The movie "Breaking away" was fun to listen to; it used familiar opera arias, and classical music as the background.  And also it was fun to look at the young riders' very fast pedaling.  The story was cute.

We also enjoyed this mountain bikers' video.  The scene where the bikers were eating Italian spaghetti was stuck on my brain so hard that I had to cook and eat today after our biking.

5-27-15 Bicycles in life

Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th, we walked 2 miles and biked our neighborhood 5 miles on each day.  We got just pooped.  Mr. wheelpedal was no energy left, and I noticed finally after gardening a little bit, oh, my goodness, I'm exhausted.

So we decided today is for resting.

Found interesting videos.

  Laughing made me cheer up

I need this slow pedaling practice!

My eyes can't follow the speed!

Well, I hope I can ride tomorrow.  My plantar fasciitis on the right heel has gone now!
