Bike/Walk Trail near Prince Park.

At last we drove out for biking.  Parked at the Prince Park parking lot in Petaluma the same as two years ago when we came the first time in July.  So the view was quite different from the last time.

The plum tree flowers were blooming along the park, standing up to the blue sky so beautifully.

The wind was chilly but sunlight was nice and warm.  People were walking by with their dogs and young men were running on the bike/walk trail comfortably.

I still couldn't do 90 degree sharp turns but I could ride over the wooden bridge of which I was scared and couldn't ride the last time.  It was nice to know what I couldn't do yet biking in a different place.  Yes, it was very nice to see views different from our neighborhood too.

We managed to bike a little over 60 minutes, even though we only biked 7.7 miles, not 10 miles like the last time, we were satisfied with today's riding.

March will start tomorrow.  Cycling time will finally come soon.

'Take it easy' is the key of success

I didn't mean the success is real success.  I mean just a good result.
After we did a 60 minute Ride and Walk on one day after another day, we both really got tired with pain, so we couldn't ride or walk yesterday.  We were going to do just light gardening, but our garden was a handful to care for after heavy rain.  We ended up getting another pain from the gardening.  Oh, my goodness.
Luckily the exercise before going to bed which I planned to do was a good idea to help us sleep well.

Unfortunately our fatigue was dragging us down today, but the garden was waiting for us, so we worked again, and got tired again.

But!  But I didn't give up again.  Maybe overeating brings us our  energy at least.  We went out for a ride.
The temperature was chilly, but we continued with whining.

An unusual thing happened.  One resident who lives along our riding course called us to stop, because he wanted to introduce himself.
We did, then he admired us always biking together, not husband riding away to abandon his wife.  Yeah, if he did, I will be somewhere without telling him, no, I didn't tell it to him.
He showed their beautiful garden and introduced his wife who pruned their fruit trees beautifully.
That was nice to meet new people who are living near by.
And we had a nice break.

When we left their house, it was colder outside, but I insisted to ride and finish over 60 minutes again.
My forehead got icy cold as if I ate shaved ice.
But we rode 63 minutes.
Surprisingly the pain from the walking eased up.

We got another beautiful morning!

Luckily when I got up I saw a blue sky, wow!  Quickly ate oatmeal.
After 30 minutes stretch exercise we went out for walking.

It was sunnier than yesterday, and the flowers and greenery looked enchanted.  I enjoyed walking very much, until...

About 40 minutes passed, I got bored, but I wanted to finish at least 60 minutes.  Walking is boring for me.
So I started singing with small voice and continued.   That successfully interrupted my brain getting bored,  and finally finished walking for over 60 minutes!!

Afterwards pains from 60 minutes walking is more severe than 60 minutes biking for me.  Especially my old injured right knee.

But I should continue both, I promised myself.

The movie motivated us

So we paid Amazon to watch the movie the first time.

We liked it very much.  I got interested in what they ate during the long distance biking and also, of  course, their mental attitudes.

Watching somebody riding better than us was fun and fascinating.

The end of the film said,
This silent voice hypnotized me.

Next morning was unexpectedly sunny, so we got excited and went out after 30 minutes TV exercise warm up.

We enjoyed flowers, tree flowers, happy singing birds, and clean air refreshed by the last rain.  Everything was perfect...

until sudden pouring rain!!!
And it was getting harder and harder.  Just 15 minutes to reach my goal of a 60 minute ride.
So we continued riding miserably, especially me without wearing a jacket,  because it was nice and sunny before.

Then, finally we reached 60 minutes, and came back!!
Feels GOOD.  Thank goodness.

Cold and heavy rain wiped out our will

Scary excessive rain was attacking California again.
Just discouraged us to go out.  So we stayed at home, we did stretching exercise for 30 minutes twice a day and played catch ball for 5 minutes until exhausted.  This is our limit.
It's depressing. I need to watch some movie for bicycling or even hiking.
We need to set one of our bicycles on the trainer rack, but we both are lazy.  NO GOOD...

The weather is not predicted.

It has been raining all night since yesterday.  Wet everywhere, and it was nice and sunny in the morning.  Finished a little gardening.  Afternoon it was still sunny, so we went biking.

Suddenly the cold wind started blowing away, pedaling on the up slope was very heavy.

Two days ago I set my goal to bike for 60 minutes, but disappointingly our energy faded away in 47 minutes.

It has been raining and cold all day today.

At least I was going to walk out, but the cold and wet weather discouraged me.
Last rain brought much warmer weather, but not this time...

Controlled how little eating, and how little working for our meals.  That was great.  I could do different things.

I will walk tomorrow no matter what weather I have to face!

Mr. WhP shouted, " Earthworm' on hallway!"
" In our house??!!"  "It even pooped comfortably!"

We must have a strong connection to earthworm.  In the ground it must be so uncomfortable to have so much rain even for earthworms.

That means there is some tiny hole somewhere.
No wonder it's so cold right now.

Found an interesting article

We've  been wondering about this especially this year.  I think that we got the same answer as it said.

Is Cycling past 70 different than past 50?

So let's think about next:  How we can continue riding for fun?  Without hurting too much.  With some accomplishment.

After long continuous raining days, we had 7 nice sunny days.  So we could start biking which was not easy, then gradually got strength back.  When we didn't feel like riding, we walked.  I still have trouble with small back pain after walking for miles, which I need to walk regularly in the future.

Next goal for me will be riding for 60 minutes, and walking for 60 minutes.  Somehow it's hard right now.  Maybe need to rest in the middle?  Or try stretching time a minute at a time?

Unfortunately more rainy days will come again.  In that case I should think about another exercise?

A Healing Cake

It has been raining all day for a week.  Dry California moved to somewhere wet and humid.  It made people crazy, drivers on the street especially, because I can hear the sharply splashing water sounds.

Usually we are enjoying this sweet fragrance in front of our door this time of year.  But the heavy and constant rain mercilessly erase it.

The nasty cold still occupied our bodies.  Felt so miserable...
I baked a coffee cake to cheer us up!
It worked very well for our spirits.

I wish the rain could move away soon.

We've been sick for a week.

Virus is everywhere so I don't want to blame anybody especially my friends.  Sore throat was the first symptom, then runny watery nose for two of us.  Then Mr. WhP got really sick, he couldn't eat at all for two days just drinking "ginger, honey lemon" which I made.  The 3rd day I forced him to eat a little.

The fourth day he almost got better, then I got really sick, so stayed in bed a whole day.

Now we both got up and started cooking and eating.  But I can't get rid of the sore throat completely and he can't get rid of pluggy throat and wet cough.

Meanwhile we did cleaning and moving around furniture, and adding some new colors to make new comfortable rooms.

Felt so much better.

After sickness my weight got down a little bit.  And for some reason we can get full with small servings of food.
That's great.  Hope it will continue.
