Figures! agrrrr...
Resting most of the time today, but late afternoon I got the urge. So we left for short ride, and we came back home just before it got really dark. The pain somehow got better afterwards.
Distance, Average Speed, Max Speed, and Time
Using left hand gear 2 only, right hand gear 3 or 2 the most of time, 5-7 for down hill. Tried to pedal as much as I could, almost no coasting on down hill.

Turning smoothly is my next goal, but...
Tired...
Found an interesting site.
"Break your cycling bad habits"
And I found my bad habits quite a lot in there. No wonder I couldn't get rid of fatigue sooner, it's getting worse and worse recently. I pushed myself too much. And I didn't/couldn't sleep longer.
So I had a nice resting time today, except changing our garden here and there.
Anyway we need to ride tomorrow, that is sure.

Even myself sometimes cannot guess about my body.
Yesterday morning I was in pain everywhere on the bed when I woke up. Luckily Mr. WhP was the same condition, it's strange to say but if only me who was whining would have been really depressing. He rode the folding bike to challenge and unexpectedly he had a hard time to pedal through.
Anyway yesterday I was hot and tired, so I did gardening a little bit, we moved our table and chair a little bit, and rested. I changed the route to bike too.
I was quite shocked to see our bodies can't take 10 miles every day continuously so far. After each 10 mile ride we always need some rest the next day. That's not fun. But I should be patient to wait, I guess.
We took a bike trip and when I saw the speedometer showing over 10 miles, I stopped riding. And I thought that I should ride more, I could do just a little more, but I didn't just in case. Sure enough pain came onto us a couple of 10 minutes later.
We got back home, fed ourselves. Now he is sleeping silently on the couch, I'm typing this with heavy eye lids. This time we both got really painful finger pain for a while. Because of the bumpy road vibration and gripping the handle so tightly.
In old age you have to deal with whatever you see.

I wish I could have found it at the beginning of my bike life.
I totally had no idea how to train myself to be a long distance biker. And I had no chart. I got advice to have resting time, but how much or how often I didn't know and even didn't think about either.
Today I found this interesting training plan
"Beginner's Training Plan From 0 to 30 miles in 14 Weeks."
It sounds great, if I can do it.
I decided to jump into the middle of the plan. Hope it will work for us.

Bicycle class, my friend told me, we went.
The most important thing that we learned:
Bicyclists don’t have to ride in bike lanes, or even stay to the right.
In general, California law calls on cyclists to stay to the right and use bike lanes when available, but cyclists can ride elsewhere if they find it safer to do so.
Specifically cyclists can ride in the left part of a lane to make a left turn or on the left side of a multi-lane, one-way street.
They can move into the middle of the lane to avoid obstacles — including when cars are parked along the curb, because motorists often open car doors and can knock cyclists down.
Bicyclists also can move away from the right side of the lane near intersections where motorists might want to make right turns in front of them.--- If I knew it, I could have avoided the situation I wrote about yesterday.
And checking behind often is necessary:
before the hand sign to turn, and before actual turning.
And make eye contact to the driver as possible --- For these I need more practice.
The county bicycle coalition certified teachers gave us free 4 hours class in the room and outside to explain the situations.
That was very nice we both thought. We spent the valuable education time. --- In addition we learned that the city of Sonoma changed the law recently so bicyclists are not allowed to ride on the sidewalk anymore.
All the attendees got free gifts, it's very nice.

It's mercifully raining!
When I woke up in the bed, my body was totally unmovable. What is going on? Then, I slowly started moving part by part of my body. Oh, that's OK. Just heavily tired.
I heard the gentle noise of rain. Rain?! Oh, drought suffering California we are so thankful for any rain. It turned out quite a bit in the morning.
So I tried to find a good website to learn bicycling better.
First I found this useful information. And that site shows The League of American Bicyclists address. I got curious to look into it.
League of American Bicyclists Riding Tips is so wonderful. I love it and appreciated it a lot.
Now I got my subjects to practice.
Proper stop / Curving right & left gracefully
Hope the rain will stop soon or maybe by 4 pm, because we need rain.
==============
The chance came sooner than I expected.
I got progress for curving right and left smoothly more than before! But I forget proper stop again, I need to work on it.

Severe troubles are in front of myself.
I was sitting on around my tail bone yesterday, because my back muscle got tired? It must be my bad habit... It hurts.... Unlike my knees and ankles, these guys are fine. Even my weak right shoulder pain last night has gone today. Ouch butt, OB< OB<OB..... .... Maybe I can train my back muscle stronger and stick my butt out to sit all the time. ???
Next problem is fatally worse one. I always sit on the seat and start. So my seat is low for me still, I guess.
But I can't other leg swing over when the first leg on the pedal. I'm scared. When you stop, you have to do reverse which I can't do either.
Gosh, I'm not sure if I can do it right in the future....
I found the good video! I might be able to do it after many practices.
