Spring came!

Even though in the morning and at night are still chilly, the day time temperature went up quite high nowadays.

Last Monday on the way to walk around our community with my friend, I took a picture of this beautiful flowering tree, it might be crabapple or crepe murtle.

This afternoon the temperature went up to 80F.  And when we started riding, the wind started blowing. We both were so tired to pedal, and we decided to give up in 45 minutes, but then we both felt better later, continued to finish an over 60 minute ride.

"My saddle got loose", "What!!?"

As usual we started cycling on our residential road, shortly after he told me that his saddle was moving right and left.  So he stopped and tightened the quick release clamp.

When we finished over 60 minutes ride, he noticed the edge of his pedal was broken.  He fixed a different part of the pedal edge long time ago, now another part is broken too.
I said, "Your bicycle was the almost same price as mine, but yours is so crummy!"😁

Luckily a mail from REI has a discount coupon, I hope he will find what he needs for his bicycle to repair tomorrow.😏

Bicycling on Multi-use Trail in Pet.

Finally we loaded our bikes in a car and drove up to Petaluma.  We have been so tired lately, and our weights are heavy.  So I decided to have just a cup of green tea for breakfast and finished an hour and half music session with my friends in the morning.
So first we went to a cafe, "Two Niner Diner," near the Petaluma Municipal Airport, because we wanted to try their fish and chips for our lunch.
The ambiance was cool, we like it.
Because I didn't want to bother the group having lunch in the middle of the cafe, so I took this photo only, but there are a whole bunch of interesting displays hanging.

And we were so happy to have this nice and crispy Fish and Chips here.
This is the best!  Even the french fries were delicious, we were amazed.
We parked our car at Wiseman Airport park in Petaluma, and took out our bicycles.  Then we started riding.

The weather was perfect, we enjoyed riding so much that I forgot to take any picture.  The blue sky had a beautiful pattern of clouds spreading out, and birds flying and the airplanes flying.
I was worried about crossing E Washington St, but while we were walking on the cross walk, drivers were kindly waiting and waved back friendly to us.
We rode for over an hour which was pretty good, I regret not to have pushed ourselves to ride a little more to 10 miles.  We only did 8.7 miles.

But we both really got tired when we came back home.  I took a short nap, Mr.Whp is still sleeping.  My knees' pain got eased, but my small back, shoulders and arms are still sore.

We should go to bed early today.   😟😟

My decision got uncertain.

When I woke up with violent noise of a motorcycle passing by beyond the fence of the backyard, I got scared and started worrying about the traffic on the street.  We need to cross the main road, and ride on a narrow main road which might be used by those too exciting drivers' cars on the weekend.
Since I've read about the fatal accident of a well-experienced cyclist being hit by a garbage truck, I just couldn't trust any drivers especially on main roads while we are riding bicycles.  Especially busy streets.  I mean I got traumatized.
So we gave up riding today.  We went shopping and worked in the garden.  The temperature went up like beginning of Summer, we had a good sweat.

When we were leaving from the nursery shop, I found these neat bicycle racks, but I wonder how bicyclists can use the rack because there are so many interruptions.  I like these bicycle racks very much, I've never seen them any other place in the city.  Sad..

Spent all day to look for!

Aging made us get tired easily, hurt our muscles easily, worry easily, get trapped in a quandary easily, and can't decide easily.  That's why I spent all day to find a place to go tomorrow in spite of the beautiful fine day today. Shucks.

Hiking club sent me an invitation to attractive hiking, but 7 miles is way more than our limit.  Thinking about a short cut for a while checking the map, but we don't know the place well enough.

Finally we found a variation to our old route to bike.
Yes, we will bike tomorrow.  Let's go to bed!!😌😴

Helen Putnam Regional Park for hike

It's still sunny, let's go!  In spite of knee pain I thought that we needed to walk to reshape our bodies.
Beautiful blue sky was covered with clouds which look like cotton balls all over.

We started to hike on the Panorama trail which is quite steep.

When you reach the top, you can see a gorgeous green hills view.

Newly grown green grass color was a very nice treat for our eyes.
We even saw horses between hills.

Fresh dried trail was fun to walk, the sunlight was so perfect that my husband who forgot his hat was OK without.

In the middle of the Pomo Trail we had a hard time not to slip on the muddy and squishy ground.

Along the skinny trail, poison oak's new leaves were hanging from both sides so we had to watch out very carefully.

The thrilling hike was finished in 46 minutes, but it felt like more than one hour.

When we came back to the parking lot, we had one tangerine each in our car, that taste was so good.
Because we know these trail already, today's hike was fun.  I could enjoy it very much.

We need to keep hiking more than ever to stimulate our joints, we thought.

Blue sky came out, let's go now!

It was cloudy this morning, and rain started in no time.  Shucks!
Then around Noon, luckily the blue sky and sunlight came out!

So we rode our riding course on residential roads.

Somebody has a beautifully blooming Magnolia.
And there is a blooming plum tree on the other side.

Because everybody got the same thought, there were quite a number of cars on the road.  Some drivers seemed annoyed at us. One of them sped up to squeeze into the corner in front of me😱, and the other driver was passing by very close to me threateningly.😱
I got mad about it in my mind, and started chasing the car full speed😑.  Luckily grandmother cyclist couldn't speed up too fast, so I was OK.  Max. speed 19.1mph.  But I shouldn't have gotten mad and done such a thing, I thought later😨.

On the way we got some dripping rain for a very short time, but we came back dry from over 60 minutes ride.

Exhausted as usual, but happy we were.

Let's walk on the trail!

Even though we bought the county regional park membership last January, the weather was cold and rainy so we couldn't go.  And we got sick and stayed home most of  February.

Finally we pushed ourselves to go one of the parks.  Because the traffic was jammed on the way to the park we chose first, so we changed our mind.

We came to Sonoma Valley regional park where we have biked  and hiked before. This is the gate to go down the usual way.
But we wanted to try the new trail, so walked back from the parking lot to reach the new gate we've never seen before.

This trail was the new trail.

The crushed rock path was getting steeper and steeper, but then we saw a beautiful oak tree forest

and blue foggy valley hills.

After going down the gentle slope we found a red water grass covered pond down there.
That is called, Damselfly Pond.

I wanted to try going on this Cougar trail all the way to Glen Ellen, but the slope got steeper and I can't walk on a slope for a long time, so we u-turned and went back to the parking lot.

Next time we want to walk through.
